Due to coronavirus, social distancing, and local closures, events after March 20 were probably cancelled. Please stay home and safe.
March is shaping up to be a busy month if you’re looking for plant-based or vegan events. I just discovered three to add to my calendar that I hope to check out for the blog, thanks to Michelle Snow over at CitySurfingOrlando.com.
Top 3 Vegan Events
Vegan Food Fest Pop-Up
The Vegan Food Fest Pop-up on March 8, 2020 at Lake Eola Park, Orlando has free general admission. They are taking donations for the fundraiser there. I’ve never gone to a Pop-Up event, so I have no idea what to expect. This one is held in combination with the 6th Annual It’s Just Yoga Fest. The weather this time of year is lovely so I’m looking forward to enjoying the Florida outdoors and seeing lots of wonderful plant-based foods.
Vegan Market Pop-up
How have I not heard of Infusion Tea before now? Someone recently told me about it, and I thought it was a tea version of Foxtail or Starbucks. But it’s actually a complete restaurant and is already on my wish-list. And now I have an additional reason to visit because on March 14 they’re holding a Vegan Market Pop-up (yes, another pop-up) by Upbeat + Rooted. Infusion Tea is located in College Park in Orlando.
Vegan Food & Wine Festival
At Eagle Nest Park in Orlando on March 28 the Vegan Food & Wine Festival will be held. It’s general admission, but there’s also a VIP ticket that includes wine and food samples.
Here’s a fun video about the event, and I think I saw a vegan funnel cake. I’m there for that! Vegan funnel cakes are a lot like vegan donuts, and vegan donuts are hard to find. Looking forward to seeing what else will be there. Note – also a dog friendly event. Sounds like a good spot for eating, dog watching, reading, and enjoying the Florida sunshine.
2 Vegan Honorable Mentions
I’m not planning on going to either of these events, but also on Michelle’s list are these two with vegan options among everything else they have planned.
Vegan Food Truck
On March 15 a popular Los Angeles Vegan Food Truck, Vuture Food (vegan +future), which is touring the nation this year, will be stopping at Broken Strings Brewery in Orlando. Vuture Food specializes in plant-based junk food. Yes, plant-based foods can be just as bad for you as other foods if they are fried, loaded with sugar and other refined ingredients, and highly processed. But if that’s what you’re looking for or want to indulge in on occasion, then you might want to check this out.
Vegan Appetizers
And in just a few days, on March 4, the French fine dining restaurant DoveCote in downtown Orlando is starting up what looks to be a weekly event called Re-Wined Wednesdays. For your ticket, you get bottomless wine and beer plus the endless appetizer buffet which happens to also include vegan appetizers.
Festivals are fun to go to solo or with friends or family, since there’s so much to see and do at a spring festival. Plus they’re casual and laid back.
And is it just me or does anyone else think that plant-based and vegan dining and event options are happening more and more? Doesn’t matter, I’m just glad that they are!
